A well-known figure in New York politics, Tonio “Tony” Burgos has held several appointments over the years. Mr. Burgos served as a community school board member in East Harlem, worked as an aide for Mario Cuomo, sat on many New York boards and committees, and became the founder and CEO of Tonio Burgos & Associates. Today he is a valued counselor to some of the country’s most influential business leaders, organizations, companies and civic leaders, as well as candidates for public office.

This audiotape contains a brief interview of Tony Burgos, which took place on June 5, 1987. The interview focuses on his general thoughts about the progress and future of the Puerto Rican community in New York, his future professional goals, and growing up in East Harlem.
